My Night Time Routine + Products I recommend!

Hello Lovelies,

I get asked all the time on Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook and of course Instagram about my night time routine, what products I use and what products I recommend, so here you little fairies go!

Before I get into what products I use, I want to let everyone reading this know I have combination/oily skin so the products I mention may not work well for everyones skin, especially if you have dry/sensitive skin. Make sure you read a little bit about these products if you are unsure before you purchase them.

The very first thing I'll do before I start to cleanse my face is remove my make up with a make up wipe, once I have done that I will use the Cetaphil cleanser and remove any make up that the make up wipe didn't take off.

Currently I use the Clinique 3-Step System Type 3- combination oily (Starts at step 1- dry to very dry and ends at step 4 - oily)
It is quite pricey for skincare but I have been using it since September and it has done wonders and I don't mind spending a little bit more for something that I know works well with my skin.

The pack comes with 3 products inside; a cleanser, a toner and a moisturiser

First you start with the cleanser - we all have them nights when we come home really tired and just want to hop into bed without washing your face so you end up taking your make up off with a make up wipe. Personally me doing that a couple of times in a row my skin starts to look like a pizza I didn't order, then I get angry with myself for not looking after my skin. When I do use my cleanser I honestly notice a difference the next morning, if I have any pimples they are instantly smaller, my skin doesn't feel as greasy and my face feels like a baby's bum.

If you don't use a toner in your night time routine I suggest you add it in right now! Toners are most helpful and necessary for people with oily or acne-prone skin, or for people who want extra cleansing after wearing makeup. Other benefits of adding a toner to your night time routine is that it shrinks pores, gives your skin pH balance, refreshes skin, and clears some redness/ acne-scaring. I put this on my skin with a cotton pad, then I leave it until it has dried (a couple of seconds) then move on to the next step.

If you read in my previous night time routine post you would know that I hate moisturisers because of the way they feel on my skin but this one is a gel and it just goes right into your skin and doesn't leave it feeling oily, it's amazing!! I use this after I have toned my skin, it puts all the natural oils back into my skin and like I said it doesn't leave my skin feeling oily which is a huge plus.

About 2-3 times a week I will exfoliate my skin with St Ives Apricot Scrub I have been using this for about a year it does it's job with removing any dead skin and leaves my skin nice and soft.

That's all I currently use but let me tell you I have used a lot of products some have been amazing and some have been horrific, here are the ones I suggest giving a try!

- Dermalogica clear start kit
- Alpha H cleanser
- St Ives Green Tea cleanser and scrub
- Cetaphill cleanser
- Biore Warming Anti-Blackhead Cleanser
- T.N Dickson's Witch Hazel toner
- Aloe Vera Plant (you rub the goo on your face - works wonders trust me!)
- Formula 10.0.6 Seriously Shine Free, Mattifying Oil-Free Moisturiser

Remember if you have any future posts you'd like to see then let me know on any of my social media sites!

Melbourne Outfits

Hello Lovelies,

Sorry that it has taken me months to write a new post, after coming back from America I lost a lot of motivation and didn't have much time to update because of work and other commitments, but have no fear I am back with another post :)

As some of you may know from my posts through-out all my social media accounts I went to Melbourne for lets just say a "girls weekend". I went for 5 nights and I arrived home yesterday afternoon. While I was away of course I took photos and posted them online and a lot of you commented on my photos asking where some of my items were from, so to make things a lot easier I thought I'd write this post up and include some of the outfits I wore and where the items are from. Unfortunately there aren't that many outfits here as I forgot to take photos when I changed to go out etc, so my apologies.

I also really want to get back into blogging again but I don't want to post posts that no one really cares about so if you want to see more posts like this, or a specific post about something comment below or post a comment to any of my social media pages!

Love from Cassandra

Outfit number one
Exploring Chapel Street, my bank account didn't enjoy it as much as I did!

Sunglasses - Quay
Necklace - Givenchy
Top - Mink
Shorts - Urban Outfitters
Bag - Edge
Shoes - Windsor Smith

Outfit number two
This is a little confusing, this is a top/dress and on each side it has a high split so you have to wear something underneath it I paired it with high waisted black shorts, I am so obsessed with it and I'm so sorry I only have one photo in it but I 100% will be wearing this to death so I'll be posting more photos in it.

Top- Topshop
Shorts- American Apparel

Outfit number three
Ahh the famous place every single person that is known to come to Melbourne takes a photo at. Did more shopping that day and lets just say I probably need to sell an organ at the black market to compensate.

Hat - Sportsgirl
Playsuit - Her Fashion Box
Belt - Found it in my wardrobe
Sunglasses - Quay
Shoes - Windsor Smith

Outfit number four
Met up with some family and went for some lunch in Lygon Street where my eyes were bigger than my stomach and as much as I ate at lunch I had a little bit of room left for an ice-cream, salty caramel macaroon to be precise!

Sunglasses - Quay
Top - Brandy Melville
Skirt - American Apparel

Outfit number five
After a fun couple of days I was ready to come home to my bed and my doggy.

One of the items I received is the Bat Your Lashes Bra Top by For Love & Lemons and that is what I'm featuring on my blog today. I am obsessed with this top, it is absolutely gorgeous, the quality is amazing and it is such a perfect fit! I would have a billion and one photos up by now in this top but unfortunately the weather has changed from me being in LA where there were record heat waves and it being so hot you can barely breathe to coming home to my street flooding and trees falling down, due to this change of weather little o'l me has got the flu.

August Favourites

Hello lovlies,

Sorry I have been M.I.A but I promise you I have a good reason. Almost three weeks ago I got my wisdom teeth, plus a molar out and I was in a lot of pain and the tablets they gave me were way too strong so I pretty much was falling in and out of sleep for two weeks!

If you don't already know I am going to America (LA, Vegas and Hawaii) on September the 6th so I doubt I will have anytime between now and then to post anything. While I am away though I was thinking I'd try to do a blog post everyday (don't hold me to it though) of my outfit of the day, what I got up to and I'll post some photos I took that day. If you would like to see that let me know below or on any of my social media sites listed at the end.

Now enough rambling, my August favourites ladies and gents! (if any boys actually read my blog posts)

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

Holy grail product alert!!!! This foundation is amazing, I went into David Jones on Friday afternoon and picked up a sample because I want to try it out before I buy it when I'm in America. I wore it when I went out for dinner on Friday night which I was only out for three hours so I couldn't really judge it based on that short amount of time. I then wore it Saturday from 12:30pm and didn't take it off until about 10:30pm that's a whole ten hours!!!! It didn't move at all and I went out and about while it was sunny then the weather changed and it was cold and raining and my foundation stayed put and didn't even move the slightest.
A little bit of this foundation goes a long way and it's super easy to blend. I'm also really impressed at how well it matches my skin tone, I find it very hard to find a foundation that after a couple of hours it starts to go darker, with this foundation I didn't have that problem. It is a little pricey but if you are looking for a good high end foundation that you will not be disappointed in I recommend you go to an Estee Lauder counter and ask for a sample.

This photo has NOT been touched

Formula 10.0.6 Seriously Shine Free, Mattifying Oil-Free Moisturiser

Another amazing product from Formula 10.0.6! If you know me you would know that I hate the way moisturisers feel when I apply them to my skin and the way they feel all greasy. This product goes on your face moisturising then it dries matte my favourite word. I am then able to apply my primers and continue with my makeup without feeling like my skin is one big grease ball. For only $10 at Priceline I highly recommend you give this product a try and also try out their Deep Down Detox mask.

NYX Roll On Eye Shimmer

I saw these roll on eye shimmer eyeshadows when I was in Target about a month ago and I was contemplating buying on then but then my brain was like "Do you really need this?" "You have enough make up" "You're going to America soon" so I put them down and walked away empty handed. For the past week after that I kept thinking no, I need it in my life so the following week I went back and picked up the colour Salmon, because I thought it would be good for everyday eyeshadow also I can apply it over other eyeshadow to give it a bit of shimmer. It's so pigmented, super easy to blend and it doesn't cause any irritation. I can't quite remember how much it was but it was under $9.

Australis Full On Foundation Stick

This product is amazing, for only $12.95 it's a steal! For a foundation stick it applies easy, blends effortlessly and isn't drying like other foundation sticks. The only downside of this product is the lack of shades they have, maybe if it becomes more popular they might bring more shades out. You can purchase this product at Priceline or any shop that stocks Australis.

Dark Chocolate coated Goji Berries

New food obsession!! Since I bought these 2 days ago I have not stopped eating them oops. Apparently they are healthyish because of the dark chocolate and Goji berries. You can purchase them from Woolworth's or Coles but if you want to read more about them click here

Sorry I don't have many favourites this month, I promise next month i'll have more because I'll have my America favourites, woohoo!

Also next blog post before I go away I'm going to do a Q&A so leave questions below or contact me on my social media sites.

July Favourites

Hello Lovlies,

I thought every month I will do a monthly favourites which will consist of products/items I have been loving during the month. Without further adieu this is my July favourites

Chasing Friday

Chasing Friday is a business that produce all natural body scrubs! To read more about them click here
I tired out their Tropical Paradise Salt Scrub, Jolly Jaffa Coffee Scrub and Strawberries & Cream Milk Bath. Yesterday before I shaved my legs I exfoliated with the Tropical Paradise Salt Scrub and oh my god, my legs felt amazing! A little bit goes a long way and after you shave your legs your legs feel so moisturised and you just want everyone to feel how soft your legs are. I'm yet to try out the other two, but I can already tell that they will also become my favourites. So definitely check out their site, they are affordable and ahh-mazing!

L'Oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream

Bad news, my two most favourite primers ran out MAC prep + prime and Benefit Porefessional and since I am going to America next month (I know exiting) I'm going to wait and purchase them there, as they are way cheaper in the States. I received my Points cheque from Priceline and I got $10 back and they sent me a coupon book and inside was a sample of the L'Oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream and also a coupon for $10 off the product. I tired the sample out and I really liked it so the next day I went and bought it with my cheque and coupon and I got it for free!
The Blur Cream covered my pores just as well as the Porefessional would and made my skin nice and smooth to apply foundation just like my MAC primer would. I still prefer the MAC and Benefit one but this is a close dupe for them both and isn't going to break your bank.

Carmex Lip Balm

Carmex is one of the world’s most loved lip balms, using a range of beautiful ingredients including Lanolin, Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter, Beeswax and Menthol, the brand is known for its much loved Carmex ‘tingle’. I was lucky enough to be sent a few of their products to test out and see how I enjoy them. After a lot of deliberation these two lip balms my absolute favourites. Due to the horrible winter weather my lips have been extremely dry! I have been using these products religiously everyday and night. You can purchase Carmex Lip Balm's from selected Priceline, Woolworths, Safeway, Coles, BigW or Target stores.

MAC Please Me

Can we please talk about this lipstick! I have been lusting over it for ages and thank goodness my best friend went to America recently and bought it back for me. The colour is perfect for everyday and it lasts ages! There is nothing bad I can say about the product, definitely something every girl should have in their make up collection.

De Lorenzo

De Lorenzo manufactures professional, salon only products that include styling products, everyday shampoos and conditioners, scalp therapy ranges and specialised treatment products. All of the De Lorenzo products are cruelty free and do not contain animal derived ingredients. Again, I received a few of their products to test out and see how I like them! All I can say is that I am in love, their shampoo and conditioner "Instant Allevi8" is designed to gently moisturise, strengthen and replenish the hair while calming frizziness. I can 100% tell that my frizziness has calm down and my hair looks more healthy and shiny! I have also been loving their Ocean Mist Spray and their Strong Hold Finishing Spray. I used these two products together the other day and I got so many compliments when truth was I hadn't washed my hair in 4 days and it took not even 2 minutes to do (I'll insert a photo below).

My hair after the Ocean Mist spray
& Strong Hold Finishing Spray

Kelly Baker Brow Powder

New holy grail product right here, I bought this only Friday afternoon and the 2 days that I have been using it I have absolutely loved it! You can purchase it from here for only $22. The colour is perfect for my eyebrows and because it's powder it gives it more of a natural look. It comes in 2 colours brown or blonde, for all you dark eyebrow girls out there the brown is buildable. To apply it I use my Real Technique Brow Brush.

Face of Australia Translucent Powder

No wonder why Lauren Curtis raves about this product, it's amazing! For months every time i'd go into Priceline to buy it it would be sold out. For only $12 and how much product you get in the tub is ridiculous, it's amazing for setting highlighter as well as foundation if you don't want to add extra coverage. It also reduces any shine. It's one of my holy grail products and if you don't already have it then I highly recommend for you to go into Priceline and purchase it!

That's it from me today! If you purchase any of these products let me know if you like them just as much as I do. Have a good week because I won't as I am getting all my wisdom teeth taken out, so excited..
